What Is a Brand Voice Model for AI Writing?

A brand voice model is a structured description of how a person or company writes and what they believe, used to guide human writers or AI tools. It typically combines sample posts, recurring phrases, opinions, stories, audience notes and boundaries such as words never used and claims never made.

Brand voice model, explained

A brand voice model is what lets a writer or an AI produce drafts that sound like a specific author instead of an average of the internet. A thin version is a style guide: tone adjectives and a few rules. A useful version adds the substance behind the voice: ten to twenty real posts the author is proud of, a list of positions they hold, the stories and examples they reuse, who they write for, and what they will not say. AI drafting tools can use that record as context so the first draft starts closer to the author. The model has to be maintained, because voices change as people learn and as the company changes direction. A monthly review that adds recent posts and new opinions keeps it current. Without one, AI drafts default to generic phrasing, which is the main reason AI-written posts are easy to spot and easy to scroll past.

Example

A founder's voice model lists twelve past posts, five opinions about her market, three customer stories she may retell, a note that her readers are operations leads, and a rule to never use exclamation marks or unverified numbers.

The step-by-step version, including what to feed the model and how to edit its drafts, is in the guide to writing LinkedIn posts in your own voice with AI. In ContentOS, voice-aware drafting learns from your imported posts and the opinions and stories stored in Creator Brain.
