Content Repurposing Tool for LinkedIn, X and Threads

Content repurposing in ContentOS adapts a pasted script for a selected platform. Choose the source and destination, generate a new version, and review how its opening, pacing and length carry the original point into another format.

Updated

What source material should you paste?

Open Repurpose from the writing tools and paste the script you want to adapt. The tool takes text directly; it does not require you to fetch a page by URL. A useful source contains the argument, the supporting example and any links that need to survive the adaptation. The paste field has a character limit and tells you when you reach it.

Start with a source you can stand behind. For an illustrative example, use a short account of a product decision: what users were struggling with, which option you chose and what you learned afterward. Keep the relevant evidence in that source. If you only paste a slogan, the model has less substance to preserve, and the review becomes a search for missing facts rather than an edit of format.

How do the source and destination controls work?

The From and To selectors offer LinkedIn, X and Threads. Set the source label to describe your pasted text and choose the destination you want to write for. The tool uses those choices to ask for an adaptation, then presents the output for review. Changing the selector afterward does not retroactively change the platform and format of the draft you already generated.

The destination instructions differ by platform. LinkedIn asks to retain the original point and evidence while adapting the opening and pacing. X requests a thread with short individual parts and preserved source links. Threads requests a concise conversational post with preserved links. Those are generation instructions, so inspect the actual output for length, completeness and readability rather than treating the requested format as a guarantee.

What should change between the versions?

Change the packaging to serve the reader while keeping the source claim stable. A longer LinkedIn explanation may need a shorter setup in an X thread, with each part making sense in sequence. A Threads version may need to focus on one observation. When shortening a text, preserve the condition or qualification that makes the point true, even if that means cutting a secondary example.

In the illustrative product decision story, the source might say that five interviewees found a particular setup step confusing. An adaptation can simplify the surrounding explanation, but it should not turn that into a claim about every customer. Compare names, dates, quantities and source links line by line. Review each thread part as well as the full sequence, because a qualification separated from its claim can mislead a reader who sees only one part.

How does repurposing fit into a writing workflow?

The tool sends the source and adaptation request through the generation endpoint, which can use creator context and honors the account voice setting. Your pasted script still supplies the specific material to preserve. Check the result against both that source and your preferred voice. If the draft adds a new anecdote, stronger result or unsupported professional context, remove it or supply evidence before using it.

Repurposing is useful when you already know what you want to say and need another version for a different channel. It produces text for further review, rather than proving that every platform should receive the same message. Destination choices describe drafting formats; publishing still depends on a supported connected account and a separate publishing action. Choose channels based on where the material is useful, then review and save the version you intend to use.

Which plans include content repurposing?

Availability by plan:

  • ContentOS: 10,000 AI generations a month per account, pooled across the subscription.
  • Each repurposing request uses AI generation. A drafting destination is not a promise that a publishing connection is available for that platform.

Frequently asked questions

Does repurposing preserve every detail automatically?

The tool asks the generator to preserve the original point, specific details and source links while adapting format and length. That instruction is not a factual guarantee. Compare the output with the pasted source, especially numbers, qualifications and links. Remove unsupported additions and check that shortening has not changed the meaning of the claim.

Will choosing X create a thread or a single post?

The standalone Repurpose tool requests a thread for an X destination and a post for LinkedIn or Threads. The generated draft retains its chosen platform and content type for subsequent draft actions. Inspect the thread parts, transitions and length before using them. A later change to the destination selector applies to a new generation, not the existing draft.
